Marketing and Public Relations Basics for Entrepreneurs

Media exposure is an important part of your marketing plan but traditional PR and media relations practices have taken a beating over the last several years.  Reporters rarely answer their phone, have turned their spam filters up to high alert and are beseiged every time they show their face in public.  Using social media is one way to break through to deliver your message.  But social media and PR are more than a delivery mechanism for communication with reporters.  How can you make sure your efforts lead to new business?

Learn how you can:
    •    Integrate your social media and PR plans
    •    Support your business and marketing goals by leveraging social media and PR
    •    Gain access to important audiences through PR or social media marketing

Discuss:
    •    Real marketing and PR budgets (i.e. Social media isn't free)
    •    The press release -- dead?
    •    Viral marketing, really?
